For all online bookings, the Hotel charges a non-refundable 20% fee, however the 20% fee can be carried towards future stays for guests booking directly with us. This policy is not applicable to guests making reservations through booking.com or other online travel agents.
Cancellation policies may vary depending on the rate or dates of your reservation. Please refer to your reservation confirmation to verify your cancellation policy. If you need further assistance, call the hotel directly or contact Customer Support.
All bookings for a maximum of 2 rooms or 2 nights can be cancelled or modified free of charge up to 3 days before date of arrival.
All bookings for a minimum of 3 rooms or 3 nights (multiple booking are considered the same as a total number of days) can be cancelled or modified free of charge up to 7 days before date of arrival.
Booking with 4 or more night stay or all bookings for a minimum of 4 rooms or 4 nights: cancellation must be made seven full days prior arrival. Cancellations made 7 days in advance, the first night is non-refundable but the remaining nights will be 100% refunded.
Cancellations up to 5 days, the first two days will be charge and the remaining nights will be 100% refunded. If cancelled with 3 or less days in advance is non-refundable. If cancelled or modified outside of the conditions outlined or in case of no show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Please email or telephone if you wish to cancel your booking. All cancellations must be confirmed by email. If you booked with an Agent (Booking.com, Expedia etc) you must contact them directly to cancel or amend your booking.
Oxford alumni cardholders and UK students can benefit from a 10% discount off the best available rate for accommodation. The discount only applies to the room in which the alumni/student member is staying. Oxford Alumni and Student discounts are only applicable to bookings made directly with the hotel by telephone or email so please provide your alumni or student number at the time of booking.
SECURITY / IDENTITY CHECK
During check-in, in the interests of security and to prevent fraud, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their passport/identity card/driving licence. If guests are travelling from outside the UK, Ireland or any country in the Commonwealth we are also obliged by law to require guests to provide the number and place of issue of their passport/identity card and details of their next destination.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Guaranteed check-in is from 3 pm, and check-out is politely requested by 11 am.
The full balance of your accommodation will be debited on arrival.
The hotel is located just 50m from the center of Oxford and no onsite parking is available to guests.
The nearest secured overnight parking is in the Westgate shopping center (OX1 1TR) – charged at 35 GBP per night or on street parking located at King Edward St. (OX1 4JA) charged at 6.60 GBP per hour between 8:00am - 6.30 pm and free outside these hours.
With the exception of service dogs and small breed dogs pets are not allowed inside the Museum Hotel. For guests wishing to bring small dogs we advise guests to contact the hotel well in advance for more information.
Late departure, beyond 11am, may be arranged at the hotel’s discretion, dependent upon room availability. Please contact us at your earliest convenience should you wish to request this as same day requests can sometimes be difficult to accommodate.
CHILDREN UNDER 18
All Children under 18 staying at the hotel are to be accompanied by an adult & supervised by an adult at all times.
The Museum Hotel reserves the right to charge your credit or debit card for any damage caused to your room during your stay or for any items missing, following departure.
The Museum Hotel is 100% smoke-free. By law, smoking is not permitted in any part of the hotel. Should it be brought to our attention that guests have been smoking in their room, a cleaning fee of £500.00 will be charged.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Guests are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, the smooth running of the Museum Hotel, or cause offence to other guests or our staff. The Hotel reserves the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you and members of your party from the Hotel if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Where this is the case, we shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.
In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to: accept the changed arrangements as notified; or make alternative arrangements with us; or cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to us in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other parties (booking.com, Expedia or any other Online Travel Agent), in connection with your reservation).
